Whew. A great week in the books, and an even better weigh-in are behind me!
I’ve gained weight for the last 3 weeks straight. I’m not talking a few ounces either. I’m talking 1, 2.6, and 4.2 pounds respectively! Geez.
I could have easily gone down that same road this past week. Last Friday, I made 72 cupcakes for my niece and nephew’s party. And, I’ll just say, probably 12 of those magically disappeared. The party was on Saturday…and not only did I have more cupcakes, but I had Doritos, a smores chocolate chip cookie (this thing was ginormous). Sunday, I visited a local festival…where I had 2 of the biggest donuts you’ve ever seen in your life, fair fries, and fudge.
Now, they say, if you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you always got. So, instead of binging on everything in sight. I stopped. I assessed. I took charge. And, I lost over 6 pounds this week!
I went to the store and stocked up on fruits and veggies. I also planned a few different soups. We’ve all heard the studies about how eating soup can help you cut back on the calories you consume at a meal. So, I decided soup would be my meals. I made this wonderful Tomato Soup several times. I made Gina Homolka’s “Un”Stuffed Cabbage Soup and Cinnamon-Roasted Butternut Squash Soup from her Skinnytaste Cookbook. (I love her blog of the same name skinnytaste.com)
Of course, I didn’t eat just soup. But, I did eat a ton of the tomato soup. I just love it!
In addition to planning…and eating soup…Weight Watcher Girl helped me get thru the week. I watched several videos and read her blog posts for inspiration…and I made a few of her sweets as well. I love her Mr Sprinkles Dessert and her Salted Caramel Parfait (I stocked up on the F1 bars referenced this summer, but you can use any flavor for this dessert). I also made the effort to get my 10,000 steps in Monday thru Thursday. I didn’t quite make it on Friday…but that’s ok, I went to a haunted trail with the hubs.
I’ve lost this weight before, and I can do it again. It is one day at a time! I’m revved up, energized, and ready to rock the plan again this week.
Current pounds lost: 43.2
