I love activity trackers. My first was the Weight Watchers Active Link, then a few months ago, I purchased the FitBit Flex.
This week, a friend “challenged” me to the “Workweek Hustle” on FitBit. The way it works is you invite up to 10 FitBit “friends” to join in. The game lasts 12a Monday to midnight Friday night. The person with the most steps wins.
Miraculously, I won! Not only did I win, but I took 80,444 steps in that 5-day period. There is NO WAY I would have done that many steps on my own.
It was fun seeing how I could up my “game” when I wasn’t in the lead.
I love a challenge, and I found myself getting up and walking every morning, walking after work, and walking during lunch some days. When I did the laundry, I marched in place.
When I took the recycling out, I took a piece at a time. Nuking something? I marched in place.
I watched tv…and marched in place.
I ended up earning 81 WW Activity Points over the past week from just walking. Eighty-one activity points…those are crazy numbers!
The down side? Some soreness, and the scale went up by 1.4 pounds.
Crazy, right? I ate great. I loaded up on water…but my body wasn’t used to so much activity, and decided to hang on to water weight for dear life.
That’s ok. I’m stronger. Who cares what the scale says? I know I did everything right. It’ll catch up…eventually.
